Sharjah Adds 870 New Water Connections in Q3 2026 as Demand Grows

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has issued 870 new water connections between July and September 2026, reflecting sustained growth in residential, commercial, and industrial demand across the emirate. The breakdown includes 290 connections for residential villas, 304 for commercial properties, and 141 for industrial facilities, with additional links supplied to government buildings, agricultural sites, and temporary structures.

These additions align with longstanding efforts by SEWA to expand water access in response to Sharjah’s population and economic growth. The authority continues to prioritize reliable service delivery, modernizing systems and improving network efficiency to support both current and future needs.

SEWA has also been steadily advancing its digital infrastructure, including the rollout of smart water meters and targeted pipeline replacements — part of its broader strategy to reduce non-revenue water and enhance service accuracy. These initiatives remain consistent with the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036 and Sharjah’s own ‘City of Conservation’ vision, championed by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Al Qassimi.

For residents and businesses, the process to obtain new water connections has been simplified through SEWA’s digital platforms, ensuring faster service activation across all sectors. With continued investment in network resilience and sustainability, SEWA is positioned to meet the evolving water needs of Sharjah’s growing community.
